Re-awakening

Well here I am, day one. I'm a 40 year old married electrician. I have a wonderful wife and a pretty cool step-son. Until yesterday I had been taking that for granted and being a miserable old man. I looked outside and thought what a great day to be out fishing or hiking or anything. That's when it came to me how long it had been since I did any of that stuff.
So I started an inventory; 3 mountain bikes with 3 helmets, 3 sets of snowshoes and poles, 1 canoe with 3 life jackets and 2 sets of paddles, 10 fishing rods, 4 tackle boxes and all of my flyfishing and flytying stuff. All of the above listed inventory was covered in a thick layer of dust and cobwebs.
Years ago, before I became "responsible", I worked in a tackle shop. I sold fishing gear, taught flytying a few evenings a week, taught flyfishing basics in the spring and worked as a guide in the summers. I loved it!
This morning I tied a fly. I have a huge cast on my right hand and it took me about an hour to tie that fly, but I really enjoyed it.
I can't wait for my wife to get home. I haven't felt like that in years. I'm thinking that responsibility doesn't have to be such drudgery.
